This project in total was $2 million with 400 linear metres of watermain, sanitary and storm sewer installation. Prior to site servicing, earthworks and pre-grading took place on this previously wooded field turned subdivision for Branthaven Homes which now boasts 51 detached homes. This project included both internal and external works on Barton Street to bring a new storm sewer from the site to tie into an existing outlet at Arvin Avenue. With external works comes coordination requirements with city staff and sub-trades in order to ensure lane occupancy and traffic interruptions are kept to a minimum. During the external storm sewer installation, there were some existing conditions that were previously unknown, but with many discussions, the lane closures were only extended a few days. The work on site involved a lot of impromptu changes while working on the external works, but with good communication between the consulting team and project managers, the work was completed successfully.
