A new 20,000 SFT, 2-story addition to Milton. This project entailed the demolition of the previous fire station back to the structural steel framing prior to cleaning and blasting of the structure for re-use. However, upon demolition, the steel was coated with lead paint which required additional abatement and had to be worked into the original schedule. A second-floor office and training room was added for additional square footage and it was essential to provide specialty racking and flooring in truck bay storage areas to accommodate the necessary equipment for outcalls. A front entrance curtain wall feature provided visibility from the road to showcase antique fire equipment. During the demolition and rebuilding of this project, the training center remained open for Milton Fire use and the fill station was open for truck traffic which required the fire crew to have constant accessibility during the build.
