Earthworks and Site Servicing
This project was a private job for a local developer, Valery Homes, with a large city cost share for Cormorant Road. Cormorant Road is a project taken on by the city councillor to connect Tradewinds Drive to Trinity Church. Upon completion, this development was worth over 10 million dollars and it includes 70,000 cubic metres Earthworks, 950 metres of Storm Sewer, 1230 linear metres of Sanitary Sewer, 1400 metres of 300mm diameter watermain with 12,500 square metres of paving. In order to connect the fairgrounds to the system, the Cormorant Road portion of the site required the installation of 730 metres of 1,050mm diameter Concrete Trunk Sanitary Sewer at a depth of 10 metres to feed the existing sewage plant. As a result of the depths of the trunk sewer, there came a number of challenges with the high-water table and winter construction. Despite a one-year delay due to bat inhabitants discovered on the site, the sanitary sewer system is fully operational today.
